The HDB_DBCC_ACTSTM event is used in SAP to view active SQL statements running in the HANA database. This data is extracted in a snapshot view, meaning that the SQL running at the time of extraction is collected.
Potential Use Cases
This event could be used in the following scenarios:
View a snapshot of SQL statements running in the HANA database at a given time.
Visualize SQL statement execution time.
Identify lock waits associated with the SQL statement.
The event will look like this in Splunk:
Execute the dbacockpit transaction in the system. Open the Performance folder and double-click on “Active Statements”. The data displayed on the right side of the screen will match the data that is extracted and sent to Splunk.
