KB 235 (Splunk): Splunk App Configuration Loop

Description

Despite running the setup page, Splunk continues to direct users of the PowerConnect Splunk app to the setup page to configure the app. For certain users, this only requires you to run the setup twice. In clustered search head environments, this loop may continue to occur.

Cause

This is likely due to a change in the order of operations for the app setup page for 8.5.x when saving configuration changes.

Resolution

For clustered search head environments, you may need to perform a rolling restart after running setup. Single search head environments may only need to run the setup twice. Upgrading to 8.5.2 should fix the issue.
