ORA_DB02_IOACT - Oracle DB IO Activities

Data Description

The ORA_DB02_IOACT in SAP event is used to check and monitor IO activities of the Oracle Database

IO Activities information is aggregated by:

  • Snapshot (EVENT_SUBTYPE=”AGGRBY_SNAPSHOT”)

  • Day (EVENT_SUBTYPE=”AGGRBY_DAY”)

  • Hour of Day (EVENT_SUBTYPE=”AGGRBY_HOUR”)

Potential Use Cases

This event could be used in the following scenarios:

  • View the current I/O activity

  • Analyze I/O trend Over Time

  • Forecast future I/O needs to plan resources for a later time period.

  • Alert if there are slowdowns in read/write times.

SAP Navigation

Log into the managed system and execute the DBACOCKPIT transaction code. Then expand the Performance menu option on the left side of the screen, and then expand the Wait Event Analysis menu option. Double-click the IO Activities option. The data displayed will match the data that is extracted and sent to Splunk.
